Fish Oil: What is it?

Mechanism of action:

Fish oil is a source of omega-3 fatty acids—specifically docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).

Common indications/uses:

Fish oil is taken as a supplement. 1–4 g/day.

Dosing:

The only omega-3 fatty acid which has a proven recommended amount is alpha linoleic acid.
